In Chernihiv region the budget for eco-programs was increased by UAH 2.8 million

These funds will also finance the development and adjustment of the regional waste management plan

The Chernihiv Regional Council approved an additional list of expenses of the Regional Environmental Protection Fund for 2023 in the amount of 2.78 million hryvnias.

Among other things, this money will be spent on the disposal of 44.5 tons of unusable chemical plant protection products (CPPs) from the territory of 10 communities, Chernihiv Regional Council reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the members of the working group unanimously supported the proposals of the regional department of ecology and natural resources. The funds will be directed to:

  • environmentally safe disposal of hazardous waste;
  • establishing the boundaries of the territories of eight objects of the nature reserve fund, namely four hydrological reserves of local importance with a total area of ​​600 hectares and four landscape reserves of local importance with an area of ​​73.54 hectares.

The message emphasized that these funds will also finance the development and adjustment of the regional waste management plan. After all, in July 2023, the Law "On Waste Management" will enter into force, and the data of the plan will need to be updated.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, thatin Lutsk, a list of environmental protection measures for 2023 was approved for over 2.7 million UAH. Thanks to the redistribution of the budget, the city environmental protection fund increased by 1.2 million hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Chernihiv Oblast, in the village of Makoshine, the sewage treatment facilities, which had been in a state of disrepair for years and needed repair, broke through.
