In Zaporizhzhia, due to the lowering of the water level, the shores are exposed

In the Kakhovsky Reservoir, after the detonation of the hydroelectric power plant near the occupied Energodar, the water completely disappeared, and the territory turned into a desert.

According to experts, there is currently no threat to the Zaporizhzhya NPP, reports Dzerkalo on Telegram.

"There is no water at all," said the author of the video, which filmed the consequences of blowing up the Kakhovskaya HPP from the right bank of the Dnieper. "There are simply no words."

He added that in a few months there will be a huge desert at the place of the reservoir.

Photos from Zaporizhzhia, which show the catastrophic shallowing of the Dnipro River, also appeared online.

Sand islands can already be seen near the Dnipro HPP, and the river is littered with dead fish.

"Despite the fact that the scenery is historical, it hurts," wrote user Anastasia Golikova in the discussion of the post.

Employees of the national reserve "Khortytsia" also said that due to the lowering of the water level, the shores are exposed and previously flooded objects and artifacts are becoming accessible. For example, the remains of wooden boats of the 20th century were discovered near Khortytsia.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that due to the undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP wetlands were completely washed away "Big and Small Kuchugura Archipelago" and "Seven Beacons" in Zaporizhzhia. These reservoirs have the status of international importance and are included in the list of Ramsar sites.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, due to the undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP, the Velikiy Lug and Kamianska Sich national nature parks in Zaporozhye will gradually turn into a desert.
