Higher-quality equipment with a longer service life will enter the markets of Ukraine

The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving has updated the requirements for the energy and environmental characteristics of household dishwashers.

These requirements for eco-design meet the latest EU requirements, the State Energy Efficiency Agency reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the department has already developed the relevant technical regulation, which should improve the environmental and energy characteristics of household appliances.

The message emphasized that the new ecodesign requirements have a number of advantages, namely:

  • equal competitive opportunities for domestic enterprises with European manufacturers and the possibility of export;
  • only those household dishwashers that meet eco-design requirements will enter the Ukrainian market;
  • consumers will be able to save money on electricity bills, and the equipment itself will be of higher quality and have a longer service life of 3-4 years;
  • dishwashers will use electricity more efficiently.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in November 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers made changes to the requirements for eco-design of energy-consuming products in accordance with the updated EU legislation.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in April 2022, the European Commission adopted a new work plan on ecodesign and energy labeling for 2022-2024, which will help save about €250 billion in 2022.
