The station will increase the share of the country's installed solar energy capacity by 20%

In Turkiye, in the province of Konya, the largest solar power plant in Europe Karapinar was put into operation.

It has a capacity of 1,350 MW and consists of 3,256,038 solar panels, reports the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine on Facebook.

It is noted that the area of the station reaches 20 million m2. The project was implemented with the financial support of the government of Great Britain, because its cost reaches $1 billion.

The message emphasized that Karapinar will increase the share of the installed capacity of solar energy in Turkey by 20%. The SES will be able to produce 3 billion kW of electricity every year, i.e. 1% of the total electricity consumption in the country. The station will be able to provide energy to about two million people.

The ASEU added that the solar plant will also reduce emissions by 2 million tons.

Earlier, EoPolitic wrote, that in Istanbul, Turkey, 10,404 solar panels with a capacity of 4.2 MW were installed on the roof of the Galatasaray football club stadium. "Green" energy provides 63-65% of the stadium's needs and saved €385,000 in 8 months of operation

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Solar Steelconstruction company launched a solar power plant with a capacity of 783 kW in the Kirovohrad region.
