Ukraine's participation in the Seville process will help to form a high-quality policy in the field of industrial pollution

Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain Ricardo Lopez-Aranda Hagu discussed cooperation in the field of development of "green" investments.

They also discussed the involvement of Ukraine in the work within the framework of the Seville process, the Ministry of Environment reports in Telegram.

It is noted that in 2009, Spain helped Ukraine implement 5 green investment projects. This has helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 800 tons every year.

The press service emphasized that Ukraine and Spain agreed on further steps to establish closer cooperation in this area.

"Ministry of Environment is interested in joining the work within the framework of the Seville process. After all, to become a part of the Seville process is actually today to exchange experience and best practices regarding the implementation of EU Directive 75, to study the procedures for drawing up NDTM and implementing an integrated environmental permit. In fact, our team has already started this process, so far at the level of a listener," said Strilets.

The message explained that Ukraine's participation in the Seville process will help to form a high-quality policy in the field of industrial pollution. And also encourage entrepreneurs to implement the best available technologies and management methods.

The press service added that the countries also discussed future art projects that will demonstrate to the world the environmental consequences of Russia's terrorist actions in Ukraine.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources held the first round table with representatives of the public and business regarding the discussion of three translated reference reference documents from NDTM (best available technologies and management methods).

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Ukraine hopes to receive help from France regarding the nuclear safety of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, in particular €1 million to eliminate urgent threats.
