Forestry did not voluntarily compensate for the damages

The Economic Court of Zakarpattia region decided to charge more than 889,000 hryvnias for illegal felling of trees from Svalyavsky forest farm in Mukachevo district.

Also, part of the trees were damaged to the point of cessation and non-stop growth, reports the State Environmental Inspection in Zakarpattia region on Facebook.

The report said that eco-inspectors found violations during an unscheduled inspection of the forest farm. They calculated the amount of damage caused to the forest and filed a claim.

It is noted that the forest farm did not compensate for the damages voluntarily. That is why specialists of the State Inspectorate filed a claim with the Commercial Court.

"The decision of the Commercial Court of Zakarpattia region was left unchanged by the decision of the Western Commercial Court of Appeal in January 2023," the press service emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Carpathians, LLC "Bukovel" plans to build 2 more megaresorts, in addition to the "Svidovets" resort, namely "Bystrytsia" and "Turbat" with a size of 1,400 hectares.

As Ecopolitic previously reported, the prosecutor's office in Zakarpattia reported the suspicion of an official from the Uzhan National Nature Park, with whose permission more than 2,000 trees were illegally cut down. This caused losses of more than 157 million hryvnias.
