Extracting zirconium was part of the plans of the "Yanukovych family"

In Donetsk region, in the Mariupol district, the Russian occupiers plan to resume mining of kaolin, as well as start mining of zirconium.

This was stated by the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko in Telegram, stressing that the consequences of such mining will be critical for the ecology of the entire district.

He also said that the extraction of kaolin will be controlled by the Russians (Khotsenko and Solntsev), appointed as the so-called "heads of the government of the DPR".

Andryushchenko emphasized that the mining of zirconium near the village of Nikolske was part of the plans of the "Yanukovych family." However, they were thwarted by the Revolution of Dignity and numerous protests.

"The consequences of such extraction will be critical for the ecology of the entire Mariupol district. However, where are the consequences, and where are the Russian profits," he emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Mariupol, the occupation authorities dismantled a brick mini-dam on the Kalchyk River, which protected the river from waterlogging. Now the flow of the river has slowed down, its waters have become gray-green in color and have a strong smell of decay..

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Mariupol, a fire broke out at the "Satellit" agricultural plant and at the main solid waste landfill. However, the occupiers continue to take construction waste to the landfill.
