After all, the brand audit showed that 20% of things thrown into the trash, including cosmetics, clothes, medicine, etc., could be useful for other people, reports the Kharkiv Zero Waste community on Facebook.
The authors emphasized that reuse is one of the 5 main principles of the philosophy of Zero waste and smart consumption, because:
- why throw away, if you can give it for reuse;
- why buy, if you can use things that have been given for reuse.
Eco-activists emphasized that the production of goods requires natural resources, namely water, oil, coal, etc., which are necessary for future generations.
"You can give literally everything to overperformance! Toys, books, furniture, cosmetics that didn't suit you, various household items and even leftover construction materials," they explained.
The message noted that in the realities of war, even tin cans and unlit candles saved the lives of soldiers.
"Those things that seem like garbage to you may be useful to others. Even rags can be given to an animal shelter, and an old jacket without one sleeve will warm the neighbor's dog in winter," ecoactivists emphasized.
Reuse cabinets will be located on the territories of the House Committee of the Chamomile ( St. Lights, 7) and condominium "Nadia 20.8" (20 Zavodska St.).
