This will feed hundreds of hungry cats and dogs

Animal rights activists and the "Auchan Ukraine" chain of stores were able to collect 870 kg of food for homeless cats and dogs in 2.5 weeks.

As part of the promotion, people could buy food in 9 stores of the network and leave it in a special basket, the humanist movement UAnimals reports on Facebook.

Animal rights activists thanked the "Auchan" network for holding the campaign, as well as all the people who joined in supporting homeless animals.

"With your help, we will now be able to feed hundreds of four-legged animals. Together – strength!", they noted.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kramatorsk, in Donetsk region, local residents the dogs lined up for breakfast at volunteers. The day before, the non-profit non-governmental organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) installed feeders for war-affected animals in the city.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Zlata Kostiuk, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) specialist at Auchan Ukraine, said that despite the war, the company continues adhere to the strategy of sustainable development and works to reduce food waste, plastic and carbon emissions.
