Danish company Vestas has started the liquidation of its russian subsidiary Vestas Rus.

The liquidation should end on September 15, 2023, reports BusinessCensor .

As you know, Vestas is the world's largest manufacturer of equipment for wind power plants. The subsidiary was a supplier of equipment for russian wind power plants. The company brought turbines from the EU, and produced blades and assembled nacelles in the Russian Federation.

In the material, it was noted that the revenue of Vestas Rus for 2021 amounted to 30.6 billion rubles, the profit – 1.62 billion rubles.

Since 2018, Vestas has delivered 1.1 GW of wind turbines to russia, which is about 1% of global sales.

The article emphasized that in March 2022, Vestas suspended participation in russian projects, and in early April announced a decision to stop business in the russian federation. The company also stopped supplying wind turbines to the aggressor country.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that Vestas company left the russian market due to the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the executive director of the Association of Solar Energy of Ukraine Artem Semenyshyn called the war unleashed by russia in Ukraine also war against renewable energy.
