The plot was unjustifiably transferred to communal ownership

The employees of the Volyn regional prosecutor's office managed to return the lands of the forest fund worth 21 million hryvnias to the state.

Department's press service  reports about it. We are talking about a land plot with an area of 9 hectares.

"The Commercial Court of the Volyn Region satisfied the claim of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office in the interests of the state, represented by the Volyn Regional State Administration, to the Kovel District State Administration and the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre in the region for the return to the state ownership of a plot of land with an area of more than 9 hectares and a value of 21 million hryvnias," says in the message.

The ground for the lawsuit was the groundless transfer to communal ownership and the change of purpose of the land plot, which was in use by the state-owned enterprises Kovel Forestry and Starovyzhiv Forestry. This plot was in state property with the purpose of forestry management.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, the head of the State Forestry Agency, Yuriy Bolokhovets, stated that Ukrainian forests will not be mindlessly axed.
