This will reduce carbon emissions by 140,000 tons per year

In Spain, the renewable energy company Iberdrola launched the largest solar power plant in Europe, Francisco Pizarro, with a capacity of 590 MW.

The cost of SPP reaches 300 million, it is located in the south-west of Spain, the region of Extramadura, reports LIGA. Business.

The station will be able to provide electricity to 335,000 homes and reduce carbon emissions by 140,000 tons per year.

The SPP will also provide energy to companies such as Danone, Bayer and PepsiCo.

The material noted that Iberdrola has 19.3 GW of active renewable energy sources and plans to increase capacity to 25 MW in the coming years. The company plans to allocate 14.3 billion for the construction of wind and solar power plants and the deployment of the Smart Grid program by 2025.

By 2025, the company plans to install 2.8 GW of renewable capacity in Extramadura.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Slovenia, a plan to increase photovoltaic capacity by 1,000 megawatts by 2025 has begun to be developed to ensure one third of families with green energy.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the SmartFlower solar energy system was opened in Ternopil that looks like a sunflower that is capable of intelligently tracking the sun, producing up to 40% more energy.
