Environmental disaster near Kharkiv: the prosecutor's office began investigation the pollution of the lake

The perpetrators of the environmental crime are currently being sought

On Monday, June 20, employees of the Kharkiv District Prosecutor's Office and officials of the Department of Environmental Protection and Nature Management from Kharkiv Regional State Administration visited the site of an environmental disaster in the village of Dokuchaevsk, near Kharkiv.

About it on the facebook page said Kharkiv environmental activist Artem Prykhodko, who recently raised the issue of wastewater pollution of the lake.

The visiting laboratory took all the necessary tests. Representatives of the group of experts saw the polluted lake with their own eyes and heard a pungent stench from it.

The prosecutor's office registered the case and launched an investigation and search for those responsible for the environmental disaster.

For their part, activists promised to monitor the investigation process and inform the public about the results.

On the eve EcoPolitics reported that in the village of Dokuchaevskoye, which is located near Kharkov, directly the liquid from the collector flows to the local lake .

Near the lake, which gets sewage, there are several enterprises nearby: Rogan Brewery, Rogan Meat Processing Plant and Agromol Dairy.

"Once this lake was the highlight of the village, there were nesting ducks, herons and fish - now the lake has become a purulent pit, which can not be approached because of the stench," - said Prikhodko.
