SES completely failed

In the town of Merefa, 30 kilometers from Kharkiv, Russian troops fired a rocket attack on the night of May 28 and destroyed a solar power plant.

Funnels six meters deep and 11 meters in diameter were formed at the site of the strikes. Volodymyr Ronchakovskyi, the head of the power plant, spoke about the rocket attack on a private territory in a comment to Suspilne.

"There is a solar power plant for the production of solar electricity for Ukraine. Tonight there were two arrivals, Iskander missiles from Belgorod. Completely peaceful object. There is no military infrastructure here. Just a solar power plant," said Ronchakovsky.

He said that the power plant was built on the former landfill on credit. The territory was cleared of garbage and dirt by their own efforts. They have not yet earned anything on it. The station operated for only a year and a half.

"Some panels, some transformers are partially left, but the station is mostly destroyed. A large amount of money will be spent on restoration," Ronchakovsky explained.

According to the head of the facility, Russia is deliberately destroying the infrastructure of Ukraine and its population.

Before EcoPolitics reported that the executive director of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine Artem Semenyshyn called the war in Russia in Ukraine also a war against renewable energy.
