The development of subsoil use is crucial for the country's defense capabilities and economic recovery

Ukraine has identified priority steps for the formation of a strategic work plan for the subsoil sector in wartime and the postwar period.

The plan was discussed by the head of the Ministry of Environment Ruslan Strelets with the head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine Roman Opimah, Ruslan Strelets reports on Facebook.

The plan is related to the need to ensure free access to subsoil and balanced subsoil use, because during the reconstruction of settlements and infrastructure, the demand of the construction industry for materials, raw materials and minerals will increase significantly.

Sagittarius explained that the development of subsoil use is crucial for the country's defense capabilities and economic recovery. Effective control tools are also important, as there are risks of unauthorized subsoil use in areas where hostilities have taken place or are taking place.

The Geology and Subsoil Service has a number of strategic objectives:

  • Simplify access to the subsoil and at the same time strengthen control over the extraction of minerals, but not through administrative pressure, but by increasing the effectiveness of such control.
  • Develop a mechanism to identify potential damage to the state due to unauthorized use of subsoil, including local significance.
  • Accelerate the digitalization of the subsoil use. First of all, create an interactive map of minerals as the most convenient information resource for all subsoil users.
  • Expand the Subsoil User's Electronic Cabinet and accelerate its integration with the single ecological platform "EcoSystem". This will allow entrepreneurs to apply online for special subsoil use permits and receive advice through the Single Subsoil User Window.

“There is a lot of work ahead. In a difficult period for the country, the entire management system in the field of environmental protection must work for results - without any delays. We must provide comfortable conditions for further business and at the same time maintain a balance with environmental priorities, "said Sagittarius.

As reported EcoPoliticа earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a number of important decisions in the environmental sphere.
