The government will subsidize the transition of households to new energy systems

By 2030, the Kingdom of Denmark intends to completely abandon the use of natural gas and quadruple the production of solar and wind energy.

This was announced on Tuesday, April 19, by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at a meeting with journalists in Copenhagen, the agency writes Bloomberg.

To achieve these goals, the Danish government will subsidize the transition of households to new energy systems using "green" gas. This will help the population replace heating systems in homes throughout the country.

"When we get "greener", we weaken Putin," the Danish Prime Minister said.

Meanwhile, the Danish kingdom will increase gas production to overcome energy dependence on supplies from Russia. Denmark hopes that this will allow it to help other European countries become independent of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, plans to stop gas production in the long term will remain unchanged.

Starting next year, the country plans to fully meet the needs of gas on its own after the completion of repair work at one of the fields in the North Sea.

Before EcoPolitics reported that since April, Lithuania, which is one of the leaders in the development of RES, in particular bioenergy, as well as Latvia and Estonia will not import Russian natural gas.
