People's deputies will consider draft law No. 9484 "On scrap metal"

On Monday, September 18, a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will be held via video conference at 11:00 a.m.

EcoPolitic prepared for its readers the agenda of the committee.

People's deputies will consider draft law No. 9116 "About forest reproductive resources" in respect of which the committee is designated as the main one.

In addition, the ecocommittee must submit its proposals to:

  • Draft Law No. 0226 "On the Ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, on the other hand, regarding Ukraine's participation in the Union Civil Protection Mechanism";
  • Draft Law No. 9484 "On Amendments to Article 2 of the Law of Ukraine "On Scrap Metal";
  • Draft Law No. 9596 "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the establishment of a zero hryvnia environmental tax rate for carbon dioxide emissions for installations that emit such emissions as a result of burning biofuel";
  • Draft Law No. 9597 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Alternative Fuels" regarding the creation of a register of installations that use biofuel as the only type of fuel".

People's deputies will also consider implementation of recommendations of the eco-committee by the State Service of Ukraine on food safety and consumer protection "Regarding overcoming the negative impact on the environment and life support systems of the population as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP".

Earlier, EcoPoliic wrote, that on September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law "On packaging and packaging waste", which regulates the concept of extended producer responsibility (EPR).
