Members of the environmental committee will consider 4 draft laws on industrial pollution

On Wednesday, January 18, a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will be held via video conference at 11:00 a.m.

People's deputies will consider 4 draft laws on industrial pollution, for which the environmental committee is determined to be the main one, namely:

  • draft law No. 6004 "On integrated prevention and control of industrial pollution";
  • draft law No. 6004-1 "On prevention, reduction and control of pollution arising as a result of industrial activity";
  • draft law No. 6004-2 "On ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to an environment safe for life and health";
  • draft law No. 6004-d "On ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to an environment safe for life and health".

In addition, the eco-committee must submit its proposals to:

  • Draft Law No. 7235 "On amendments to the law of Ukraine "On certain issues of importing into the customs territory of Ukraine and conducting the first state registration of vehicles" regarding the validity of rules for the period of martial law";
  • Draft Law No. 8290 "On amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding improvement of state regulation of food safety and development of animal husbandry";
  • draft law No. 8319 "On declaring the natural territories of the city of Morshyn, the natural territories of the Morshynsky deposit of mineral therapeutic brines and the natural territories of the nynivsky deposit of mineral therapeutic brines of the Lviv region as a resort of state importance";
  • draft Resolution No. 8337 "On the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, the World Trade Organization, the governments and parliaments of foreign countries regarding the establishment of sanctions on the import of russian and belarusian wood and its products, russian fish and seafood, bans on the export of equipment and its components, as well as the inadmissibility of international environmental certification systems on the territory of the russian federation";
  • draft Resolution No. 8338 "On the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the UN, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Associations of Southeast Asian States, and the national parliaments of the countries of the world regarding the condemnation of crimes against the environment committed by the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine, promoting the overcoming of their consequences and restoring the ecosystems of Ukraine during the war and in the post-war period, providing compensation for environmental damage and loss of ecosystem services, as well as creating a global platform for assessing the damage caused to the climate and the environment as a result of military actions." .

People's deputies will also consider:

  • the issue of adding proposals regarding issues that require legislative regulation to the draft Plan of Legislative Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2023 in accordance with the subjects of the Eco Committee;
  • report on the work of the Eco Committee for the period of the eighth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th convocation;
  • the work plan of the ecocommittee for the period of the ninth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th convocation;
  • a letter from People's Deputy Oleksandr Matusevych regarding his inclusion in the working group on the development of legislative initiatives regarding environmental impact assessment in the forestry industry.
