Community residents are urged to submit hazardous waste for recycling

In April 2025, residents of the Lviv territorial community will be able to hand over hazardous waste, such as batteries, fluorescent lamps, and mercury thermometers, for safe disposal to a mobile collection point, the Ecobus, free of charge.

Its schedule is published on the website of Lviv City Council.

Ecobus schedule and parking locations

Ecobus operates in all districts of Lviv, as well as in Vynnyky, Bryukhovychi, and Rudne. It stays at each location for three hours: from 10:00 to 13:00 or from 14:00 to 17:00.

Waste acceptance conditions

Hazardous waste is accepted free of charge for community residents. One person can hand over

  • up to 10 kg of batteries;
  • up to 10 fluorescent lamps;
  • up to 5 mercury thermometers.

Packaging requirements

All waste must be in undamaged condition. Light bulbs and thermometers should be handed over in the manufacturer's packaging or in other safe containers, such as cardboard or paper, to avoid damage during transportation. It is recommended to pack batteries in cardboard boxes or bags. Plastic bottles should not be used, as this complicates the process of removing batteries from them and recycling them.

Earlier, EcoPolitics published the schedule of Ecobus runs in Lviv and the community for March.
