The introduction of the draft decision and its voting directly depends on the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko and each deputy of the Kyiv City Council

Eco-activists demand that the Kyiv City Council should include in the agenda of the July 14 meeting the draft decision on the creation of a landscape reserve on both slopes of Protasiv Yar, which was fought for by public figure Roman Ratushny.

Deputies were supposed to consider the cancellation of illegal changes to the general plan regarding the sections of Protasiv Yar at this very session, reports the public organization "Protect Protasiv Yar" on Facebook.

The project of this decision was registered in November 2021.

According to the community's lawsuit, the court invalidated the illegal sublease agreement in Protasiv Yar, and ecoactivists formed and agreed on proposals for this project. Roman Ratushny, a public figure who recently died at the front, took an active part in this process.

The article noted that this decision should embody his life's work.

"Introduction of the draft decision on the creation of a landscape reserve to the agenda of the Kyiv City Council and its vote directly depends on the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko, the heads of all factions and parliamentary groups, as well as each deputy of the Kyiv City Council personally," the message said.

Ecoactivists demand:

  • to include in the agenda of the July 14 session a draft decision on the creation of a landscape reserve on both slopes of Protasiv Yar;
  • to vote on this project together with proposals that take into account the latest court decisions regarding plots in Protasiv Yar;
  • create a landscape reserve on the territory of both slopes of Protasiv Yar and preserve 20 hectares of forest in Kyiv.

By the way, two Kyiv lakes – Zaplavne in Darnytskyi district and Malynivka in Dniprovskyi – received the status of landscape reserves of local importance.
