Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas continues to invest in Ukrainian wind energy. The total capacity of wind farms installed by the company is 880 MW.

Vestas is currently building the second phase of the Tiligul wind farm, which belongs to the Ukrainian energy company DTEK. According to Vestas Regional Director Jose Luis Jimeno, this shows the world that investing in Ukraine is possible and even necessary.
According to Luis, Ukraine has a large market for wind farms and provides opportunities for foreign investors to develop projects. He added that he could help Ukraine carry out not only technical but also political and legislative transformation of renewable energy development to encourage greater foreign investment.
“We have installed 880 MW of wind turbine capacity in Ukraine. That is almost half of the entire wind energy sector. Now we have started the second phase of the Tiligul Wind Farm. This shows that it is possible to work in Ukraine. We are showing this to the world,” said Jimeno.
At the Ukrainian Wind Energy Forum 2025 organized by the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, which is taking place in Lviv, Yuriy Shafarenko, deputy head of the main department of the socio-economic policy directorate of the Office of the President, said that a total of almost 2,000 MW of wind farms have been installed in Ukraine, 1,300 MW of which are located in the occupied territories, and another 40 MW have been destroyed or damaged by Russia.
We remind EcoPolitic readers that in 2023, DTEK built the first phase of the Tiligul Wind Farm with a capacity of 114 MW in the Mykolaiv region using Vestas turbines. During its first year of operation, the Tiligul Wind Farm generated 333 million kWh of electricity for the Ukrainian power grid.
Currently, DTEK and Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas have agreed to build the second phase of the Tiligul Wind Farm, which will increase its capacity to 500 MW, i.e., by 384 MW.
