Ukraine has selected 18 kindergartens – winners of the Solar Energy for Kids competition – to be equipped with solar systems for uninterrupted hot water supply throughout the year.
This will help ensure comfortable conditions for children and save budget funds, according to the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving.
It is noted that the project is being implemented by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving with the help of GIZ, Germany, the Swiss government, and Ukrsvitloleasing.
"We received a large number of applications from all over Ukraine. More than 120 Ukrainian communities showed activity and submitted documents for participation in the selection. I was pleasantly surprised by everyone's responsible approach to participation, because one of the important requirements is the presence of shelter and an implemented energy management system in the community. We are grateful to all community leaders for their initiative in implementing energy-efficient solutions," said the head of the State Energy Efficiency Agency, Hanna Zamazeyeva.
She emphasized that the project can be scaled in the future, which will contribute to the energy sustainability of more communities.
It is noted that the winners of the competition were:
- pre-school educational institution No. 1 "Yasochka" of general development, Pomichna, Kirovohrad region.
- preschool nursery school – kindergarten No. 10 "Yalynka", Konotop, Sumy region;
- DZ "Zhuravlyk", Pidgorodne village, Ternopil region;
- crèche-kindergarten No. 1 "Zhuravlyk", Chornomorsk, Odesa region;
- communal preschool institution No. 10 "Lastivka", Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region;
- Lazeshchyn Preschool Education Institution, Yasinyansk Settlement Community, Zakarpattia Oblast;
- nursery-kindergarten "Sonechko" combined type, Mena, Chernihiv region;
- nursery-kindergarten "Sonechko", Koblivska rural community, Mykolaiv region;
- nursery school No. 7, Snigurivka, Mykolaiv region;
- nursery-kindergarten No. 5 "Sonechko", Fastiv, Kyiv region;
- DZ "Zirochka", Dolynska, Kirovohrad region;
- Pre-school education institution "Kalinka" of the supporting educational institution "Shevchenkiv Lyceum", Shevchenkove, Kharkiv region;
- nursery-kindergarten "Malyatko" of general development, Zvenigorodka, Cherkasy region;
- "Sonechko" kindergarten, Plyakivka village, Cherkasy region;
- DZN No. 5 "Dzvinochok", Zhashkiv, Cherkasy region;
- preschool education institution of the combined type "Divosvit", Zhydachiv, Lviv region;
- Ustinivka preschool, Ustinivka village, Kirovohrad region;
- nursery-kindergarten of the combined type No. 77, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region.
"Ahead is joint work on the practical implementation of projects using solar systems. We are sure that the coordination of actions and the activity of all project participants will allow us to get results already in the first half of 2024," the message emphasized.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Ivano-Frankivsk region in Dolyna, the first communal solar power plant with batteries was installed on the roof of the "Teremok" kindergarten.
