Zakarpattia Oblast became the most resonant for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation

In Ukraine, only from July 28 to August 3, losses due to violations of the requirements of environmental protection legislation amounted to 11.288 million hryvnias.

Such calculations are given by specialists of the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine (SEI). In just one week, 180 administrative protocols were drawn up against violators. It is worth noting that the total amount of fines was only 44 thousand hryvnias, and 58 thousand hryvnias were charged to the state budget.

"Damage in the amount of 11.288 million hryvnias was calculated for violation of the requirements of environmental protection legislation. The total amount of claims and lawsuits is 11.77 million hryvnias. Voluntary and compulsory damages in the amount of 2.026 million UAH were collected," the DEI said in a statement.

Zakarpattia region became the most resonant for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation.

The inspectors presented two claims to the utility company MMKP "Repair and Construction Management" in the amount of UAH 8.31 million for illegal felling of trees in protected objects in Mukachevo. We are talking about illegal felling of trees in the park-monument square named after Andrii Kuzmenko and Peremoga recreation park.

In particular, a claim was made to the Onokiv village council in the amount of UAH 2.487 million for illegal felling of trees on the territory of the botanical natural monument "Sosna chorna" (Onokivtsi village, Lysa gora tract).

The materials in both cases were sent to the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.

As EcoPolitic reported, in May in Dnipropetrovsk region, eco-inspectors calculated over 28.5 million UAH in damages due to soil pollution by waters of unknown origin in the town of Zhovti Vody, Kryvorizka district.
