To make a bench, you need at least 10 kg of lids

Recycling workshop in Ivano-Frankivsk GDP "EcoREactive" plastic produced 70 benches from three tons of lids in two years and canister.

The raw material for them is collected by volunteers during nature clean-up, as well as by city residents using special containers, reports versii.if.ua.

It is noted that the containers were installed on tourist routes, in the courtyards of condominiums, playgrounds and recreation areas.

"We started with pictures, because it was simple. Now we can produce sheets with a thickness of 0.3 cm to 2 cm. We have determined the optimal parameters for the manufacture of benches. There was a coronavirus, they came up with stands for phones so that children could put tablets when they study," said workshop coordinator Nataliya Hasiuk.

She emphasized that at least 10 kg of raw materials are needed to make a bench. So far, the company has produced approximately 70 benches from recycled plastic, which were installed in the communities of Frankiv Oblast and Lviv Oblast.

It is noted that similar workshops operate in other cities of Ukraine, namely in Odesa, Zakarpattia, Lutsk, and Lviv. Before the full-scale invasion, such an enterprise was also in Chernihiv.

"If you are convinced that your initiative will change the world for the better even by a gram, then you should do it. If we know that we saved 3 tons of plate, then we are happy, because it is beneficial," Hasyuk said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in 2022 in Odesa, the first bench made of non-liquid plastic, that is, one that cannot be recycled, was installed in Yunist park.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in 2021, the first eco-shop made of recycled plastic lids was installed in Kyiv.
