The violation became known thanks to the appeal of a resident of the city of Dunaevtsy in early September

In the Khmelnytsky region, near the village of Kurazhin, in the Novoushitsky territorial community, a spontaneous dump of household waste was removed.

The village council also plans to install information stands and signs about the prohibition of littering the territory and responsibility for such actions, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Khmelnytsky region reports on Facebook.

The report noted that for a long time, local authorities have not taken any measures to eliminate the landfill.

The environmental inspectors also emphasized that the issue of collection and disposal of household waste is now very acute in every Ukrainian community, country and in general in the world.

The violation became known thanks to an appeal from a resident of the city of Dunaevtsy in early September 2022. The SEI sent a request to the Novoushitsky village council to take the necessary measures.

"Undoubtedly, what is being done at the local level and aimed at solving the problem of waste is important. However, relying solely on the authorities is not worth it," the message says.

The environmental inspectors also talked about what every Ukrainian can do to properly dispose of household waste:

  • conclude an agreement for the removal of solid household waste with one of the public utilities of the community;
  • timely pay the subscription fee for garbage collection;
  • do not throw a variety of household rubbish on the streets, along roadsides, in the forest.

"Only in this way will we ensure cleanliness and order in the vastness of the region and preserve the natural beauty of our region," the message said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Lviv on the territory of the Lychakiv district administration they did not remove the unauthorized dump construction and household waste on an approximate area of 4700 m2.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, environmental inspectors accused the Korostyshevsky city council of the Zhytomyr region of inaction and improper execution of powers due to long-term unauthorized industrial waste dump from the processing of natural stone.
