The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a priority action plan for 2024, including 28 tasks for the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources and other agencies in the field of environmental protection.
Among the priorities is strengthening administrative and criminal liability for violations in the field of waste management, the Government Portal reports.

"In the light of recent events and non-working legislation in the field of waste management, we expect an interesting year where, in addition to countering external military aggression, we will fight against the system," commented Olga Boyko, coordinator of the Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee of the European Business Association.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources has developed drafts of new standards for monitoring, quantifying, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions that will help launch an emissions trading system.
