As a result of Russian missile attacks, Ukrainian power plants have been seriously damaged. In this regard, Ukrainians are urged to consume electricity sparingly, especially from 19:00 to 22:00.

About it the General Director of the company-provider of electricity Yasno Sergey Kovalenko wrote in Facebook.

"What can we do now? Save consumption during peak hours. And if there will be a lot of us, it will work. Therefore. From 19 to 22 hours. Every day. Please save electricity. Every day. For the entire year 2024. Let it become a habit," he wrote.

The Russians have caused serious damage to Ukrainian power plants, including thermal and hydroelectric plants. They play a key role in the energy system, enabling a rapid increase in power generation in the morning and evening when demand for electricity rises sharply.

Everyone can help by taking a number of simple steps:

  • turn off the lights where they are not needed;
  • do not turn on several energy-intensive devices at the same time;
  • do not turn on the heater;
  • Do not put warm or hot foods in the refrigerator;
  • close the refrigerator quickly and tightly;
  • save water;
  • pour no more water into the kettle than is necessary;
  • take a shower instead of a bath;
  • turn off computers and laptops rather than leaving them in standby mode;
  • do not leave the phone on charge all night;
  • make the most of daylight.

As EcoPolitic earlier reported, the NEC Ukrenergo urged Ukrainians not to overload power grids to avoid emergency blackouts.
