In Europe, wind energy is becoming a reliable source of energy even in harsh weather conditions

Experts of the Economic Recovery Center stated that in Ukraine, investors in the wind energy sector can complete the construction of at least 300 MW of capacity, out of the 600 MW that were planned for launch in 2022.

This will help ensure own needs in and export green energy to the EU, the Center for Economic Recovery reports on Facebook.

"For this, the pre-PPA conditions should be extended for such projects," the article noted.

Economists believe that this will help the country continue to develop the industry despite the fact that the majority of RES generation is currently located in temporarily occupied territories.

The authors noted that from 2017 to 2021, Ukraine was the most dynamic country in Eastern Europe in terms of renewable energy development.

They also explained that in Europe, wind energy, against the background of energy blackmail from Russia, is becoming a reliable source of energy even in harsh weather conditions. After all, the efficiency of wind generation in winter is reduced by only 3.9%, compared to the volume of production in summer.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Utilities (CEA) Andriy Gerus blocked the resumption of construction more than 300 MW of wind power capacity for 5 companies, including 3 foreign ones.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Ukrainian experts believe that the growth of clean energy generation can be significant strengthen the energy independence of the country and will contribute to the implementation of the Green course.
