Ukraine has fulfilled its environmental European integration obligations by 77%

The overall progress of the implementation of the Agreement for 2022 increased by 9%

Ukraine fulfilled 77% of the European integration obligations in the direction of the environment.

In 2022, ecological progress reached 16%, according to the annual Report on the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on the Government portal.

It is noted that according to the results of 2022, Ukraine has already fulfilled 72% of all obligations stipulated by the Agreement, which is an important element of the country's integration into the internal market of the European Union.

The report emphasized that the overall progress of the implementation of the Agreement for 2022 increased by 9%.

According to the annual progress, the environment cluster took 3rd place, together with the management of state finances, among the 12 main sectors and reached 16%.

The leader in the fulfillment of European integration obligations was the intellectual property sector 94% with an annual progress of 33%.

The second in the rating was the energy sector, in which the overall progress reached 75% with an annual increase of 17%.

"Despite the full-scale war, we continued the active process of adapting Ukrainian legislation to EU law. The presented report is the result of a great teamwork of the ministries, the Parliament and other authorities, we plan to continue to maintain the high dynamics of European integration processes," said Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna – We are completing the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission, which we received along with the candidacy, we have launched a self-screening procedure for compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law, all these parallel processes are designed to accelerate the next stage – negotiations on EU membership.”

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the analytical report of the European Commission on Ukraine's ability to fulfill the conditions of EU membership in the environmental protection cluster, the country received the lowest score 1 out of a possible 5.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in March approved the Government's Priority Action Plan for 2023. Special attention will be paid to the development of green energy and the implementation of the principles of the European green course.
