Ukraine and Denmark agreed to expand partnership in wind energy

The partnership provides a basis for investment and trade in wind energy

Ukraine and Denmark signed an Agreement on the expansion of energy partnership in the field of wind generation.

The parties undertook to promote the further development of the energy partnership, as well as exchange experience and knowledge in this area, reports the Government portal.

It is noted that the document was signed online by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko and the Minister of Climate, Energy and Communal Services of the Kingdom of Denmark Lars Ohor during the WindEurope's 2023 conference held in Copenhagen.

The message emphasized that the partnership will include:

  • exchange of information and cooperation of experts in the development of strategy, policy and legal measures in the field of wind energy;
  • exchange of knowledge in the development of technological capabilities;
  • formation of a stable basis for investment and trade activities in the wind energy sector.

Galushchenko noted that Ukraine strives to become a leader in building a modern green energy sector and to achieve a 50% share of RES in the energy balance by 2050.

"The development of partnership with Denmark in the field of wind energy is extremely important for us in this context," he emphasized.

Galushchenko also called on the Danish partners to use the potential of bilateral cooperation between the countries, in particular within the framework of the newly signed Agreement.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that during the post-war reconstruction, emphasis will be placed on the implementation of green projects. And that Ukraine is ready to become one of the European hubs of modern green energy.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, the head of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services, Andrii Gerus, said that Ukraine is developing legislative mechanisms that will stimulate investment in renewable energy projects.
