The city has 31 thousand hectares of forest

Since the beginning of 2024, 64,000 seedlings of forest crops have been planted in Kyiv's urban forests.

In particular, on the International Day of Forests, 500 pine seedlings were planted on the territory of Bilodibrovo forestry, which were grown by employees of the Darnytsia Forestry and Parks Enterprise, the KCSA press service reports on Facebook.

According to Oleksandr Voznyi, director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation at the Kyiv City State Administration, as part of the spring campaign, specialists are planting seedlings to replace plants that have not taken root and reforest new areas.

"Special attention is paid to the areas damaged by the war," he said.

It is noted that in Kyiv, the total area under the jurisdiction of municipal forestry and parks reaches 31 thousand hectares.
