From January 4, 2023, 17 New Year's tree reception points were opened in Kyiv, where the trees will be chopped into chips and given a second life.
Such points will work until January 31, the press service of the communal association Kyivzelenbud reports on Facebook.
It is noted that 11 points will be opened on the territories of the production bases of the district green areas management (GAM). Also, 6 locations will work on the territories of "Darnytske" and "Koncha-Zaspa" forestry.

The report emphasized that wood shavings from Christmas trees will be used for mulching the holes of evergreen plants. After all, in winter it helps to protect the soil from freezing, and in the warm season - to maintain the water balance.
