The lower the CAQI, the better the air quality

In Kyiv, on the morning of Thursday, October 6, a very low level of atmospheric air pollution was recorded on the Right and Left Banks with a general air quality index of 15-19.

The radiation background in the entire city is within normal limits, reports KMDA.

The message explained that the Common Air Quality Index (CAQI) is formed automatically based on the indicators of several main pollutants: PM2.5 and PM10 (dust particles), SO2 (sulfur dioxide), NO2 (nitrogen dioxide), OZ (surface ozone), CO (carbon monoxide). The lower the CAQI, the better the air quality.
