450 people turned out for the UAnimals Spring Cleanup March

On World Environment Day, volunteers of the UAnimals organization gathered for a spring cleanup march and cleared the national parks of Ukraine of garbage.

This was reported on its website by the charitable organization UAnimals.

As it became known, the cleaning was organized in the following national parks:

  • "Holosiivskyi" in Kyiv;
  • "Rostochchia" in Lviv Oblast;
  • "Carmelyukovo Podillia" in Vinnychyna;
  • "Khortytsia" in Zaporizhzhia;
  • "Hutsulshchyna" in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

It is noted that 10 tons of garbage were removed from Holosiivsky Park, 4 tons from Hutsulshchyna Park, 2 tons each from Khortytsi and Karmelyukovo Podillia Park, and 1.5 tons from Roztochchi. Together, volunteers collected 19.5 tons of garbage.

According to the volunteers, employees of the State Emergency Service took part in the cleaning at all locations, and employees of national natural parks helped to organize the process.

It is also reported that a total of 450 people took part in the spring toloka. Volunteers came with relatives and friends, there were even whole work teams. The largest action took place in Kyiv, where 150 volunteers joined, a little less people were in Khortytsia — 120.

"Many strange things were found in nature: in Holosiivskyi Park, they found an entire wardrobe, even with high-heeled shoes. In Khortytsia, they collected a lot of rusty iron and tires. However, glass bottles and plastic remnants – dishes and various packaging, abandoned after picnics," says UAnimals.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that on April 20, on Environment Day, the UAnimals charity invited you to join the All-Ukrainian cleaning march.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, local residents in the Kyiv region conducted a forest cleanup during which they found 3 old TVs, 150 rubber tires and 40 bags of other garbage.
