The Velikobychkiv settlement territorial community in Transcarpathia has produced new containers for sorting waste and will equip sites for them with the funds of the EU sub-grant "Sort – save the Carpathians".

This was reported in the NGO "Solidarity Yes".

The sub-grant is financed by the European Union within the framework of the project "Integration of sustainable development in Ukraine in accordance with the European Green Course".

Glass and plastic were already collected separately in Veliky Bychkiv. But a sharp increase in the number of beverage cans prompted residents to increase the number of containers. Therefore, preparatory work is currently underway to arrange the first sites for three containers. They will be located in the village of Velikiy Bychkiv and the village of Verkhne Vodyane.

"This will allow residents to conveniently sort waste into plastic, glass and aluminum cans, which in turn will contribute to reducing the negative impact on the environment due to garbage pollution," said the NGO.

In the tergromad, the production of two canopies and containers for sorting garbage has been completed. Special tables with information on how to properly dispose of waste will be made and fixed for each garbage can.

Also, in two schools of the community – Velikobychkivsky ZZSO #3 and Verkhnivodyansky ZZSO #1 – children are told about the principles of garbage sorting. At the beginning of the year, sets of containers for eco-sorting appeared in these institutions, so that children learn separate collection of waste from an early age.
