In Ukraine, the court forced the State City Enterprise "Ivano-Frankivskteplokomunenergo" ( IFTKE ) to pay about 8,852 thousand hryvnias for excessive emissions into the atmosphere without a permit.

The money will be sent to the Environmental Protection Fund, he said State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine  in the Telegram.

Environmental inspectors of the Carpathian region found violations in 2020 during a scheduled inspection. The amount of damage caused to the environment amounted to UAH 8,037,192.

“However, the company voluntarily refused to pay the claim. Therefore, the State Coinspection filed a lawsuit with the Commercial Court of Ivano-Frankivsk region,"- writes SEI.

The court satisfied the requirements of the SEI.

Although the company filed an appeal, the Western Commercial Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Commercial Court of Ivano-Frankivsk region of October 18, 2021. In general, the company will have to pay UAH 8,852,048.86.

The material explained that the funds paid for the damage to the environment go to state and local environmental funds, where they are used to implement environmental measures.

We will remind, in Ukraine poachers and black loggers caused millions of hryvnias in damages per week.

As EcoPoliticа reported earlier, in Ukraine for the month of the war environmental inspectors found violations of more than UAH 3 million.
