The legal discussion has reached a logical conclusion

The Supreme Court, as part of the panel of judges of the Cassation Administrative Court, recognized the conclusion of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of Kronospan Rivne LLC in the village of Horodok, Rivne Region, as legal.

Proceedings in this case have been ongoing since 2020 and have passed through all levels of courts, reports CEO of Kronospan Rivne Ivan Selehman on Facebook.

He said that the Supreme Court dismissed the cassation appeal of the public organization "Ekoklub" about the annulment of the conclusion of the Department of Internal Affairs. This confirmed the legality of the issuance of the conclusion of the EIA to the enterprise and the admissibility of its activity.

"The legal discussion has reached its logical conclusion: the decision of the Supreme Court in favor of "Kronospan Rivne". The highest court in Ukraine confirmed that the calculations were carried out correctly, and the environmental impact assessment procedure complies with current legislation. Activity exclusively within the legal field and environmental safety are the fundamental principles of our company's work, so we continue to work publicly and openly," said Selehman.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in July 2022 in the Rivne region the court canceled the conclusion of the EIA for the woodworking plant Kronospan near the village of Horodok.
