Some residents of Kalynyvka opposed the destruction of the reservoir

In the Kyiv region, in the village of Kalynivka, Fastiv district, an embankment of construction waste was made in the middle of the lake in order to shorten the journey to shelter from 10-15 minutes to two.

Eco-activists criticized such actions, because the embankment violates the reservoir system, which will lead to waterlogging, The Village reports.

The Silrad said that budget funds were not spent on the works and the embankment was built at the request of the residents of the military town microdistrict. They also plan to build a pedestrian and bicycle path.

The article said that part of the residents of Kalynyvka criticized such an initiative and opposed the destruction of the reservoir. They also called on the police and the prosecutor's office to pay attention to this situation.

"Friends, do you believe that this road in the middle of the lake is a concern for people's safety on the part of the authorities?" wrote Facebook user Lyudmila Pershin.

Users emphasized that a bridge could be built to shorten the distance, which would not harm the lake.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that near Kyiv, in the village of Petropavlivska Borshchagivka, eco-inspectors discovered pollution of the lake. The water in the lake became cloudy with soap bubbles and acquired a specific smell.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Kyiv, the list of environmental protection measures for 2023 included clearing of the unique Lake Sinye, which is in the Podilsky district near the Vynogradar housing estate.
