This will prepare the community for the implementation of the upcoming Law "On Packaging and Packaging Waste"

In the Kyiv region, a system of separate collection of packaging waste will be created in Brovary and the villages of Knyazhychy and Trebukhiv.

The relevant contract was signed association of manufacturers of packaged goods operating on the principle of extended responsibility Recopack and Brovary Territorial Community, it is stated on the Facebook page of the association.

It is noted that now specialists of the association together with the local one the Department of Housing and Urban Development is developing a Plan for the separate collection of packaging waste. It will form part of the future local waste management plan.

The message said that an agreement on joint actions in the field of maintenance of the system of separate collection of packaging waste in the community was also signed with "Celtic TBO" LLC. The enterprise will collect, transport and sort waste. Future recycling enterprises are identified.

"Recopack is already preparing for the implementation of the future Law "On Packaging and Packaging Waste", which should be adopted already this year," the message says.

The association added that new communities will soon join the Recopack initiative.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that at the meeting on October 2, the Parliamentary Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management held a preliminary discussion of draft law No. 10066 "On packaging and packaging waste", which regulates the concept of extended producer responsibility (EPR).

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Poltava Oblast, in the city of Pyryatyn, the first 30 tons of cardboard packaging waste collected by enterprises and residents of four communities according to the principle of waste disposal were sent for processing.
