In one of the districts of Odessa, they are working on the liquidation of two landfills

Eco-inspectors recorded numerous cases of unauthorized landfills of industrial, construction and household waste in Odesa and the region.

At the request of the State Environmental Inspection, part of the landfills in two communities have already been liquidated, the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District reports on Facebook.

This is how eco-inspectors managed to liquidate:

  • unauthorized landfills of solid household waste on the territory of the village of Vypasne, Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky district;
  • landfills of spent industrial, construction and household waste in the territory of the Malinovsky district of Odessa.

The message noted that currently the Suvorov district administration of Odesa is considering the requirements of the State Inspectorate regarding the liquidation of two landfills of solid household waste, organic residues, broken glass and construction waste.

As you know, landfills are a serious source of air, soil and water pollution.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the village of Koshari, Odesa region, garbage bags were thrown onto the shore of the Tyligul estuary. In September 2021 in the community eliminated several large-scale landfills out of 52 discovered.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Lviv on the territory of the Lychakiv district administration they ignored the liquidation of the unauthorized landfill of construction and household waste on an approximate area of ​​4,700 m2.
