The Bioenergy Association of Ukraine (UABIO) called on people's deputies to support draft laws No.8052 and No.8053 during their consideration in the Verkhovna Rada.
The documents are designed to ensure the development of electronic trade in alternative fuels, UABIO reported on Facebook.
Specialists of the Association explained that Ukraine needs a modern market mechanism to provide boilers and CHPs with solid biofuel, which will be created by these draft laws. Such a platform will solve the problem of providing solid biofuel to existing biomass boiler houses and CHP plants, as well as new ones, in particular those announced by Naftogaz Ukraine JSC in Zhytomyr and Lviv.
They also said that the UABIO team participated in the preparation of these draft laws and supports their adoption.
"Their adoption is critically important for the energy sector," the message reads.
What will be changed:
- the main principles of the electronic trading platform will be ensuring the balance of supply and demand, as well as quality control of solid biofuel;
- wood fuel from forest farms will be supplied to boiler houses and thermal power plants in a transparent and market way;
- at the same time, certification of biofuels will be introduced and a guarantee of their supply will be provided;
- the operator of the electronic trading platform will be selected through a tender among the available exchanges.
The message noted that the similar BaltPool exchange in Lithuania has been operating for more than 10 years and has proven its effectiveness.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that Naftogaz of Ukraine has started preparatory works for the construction of the CHP on wood chips in Lviv and solid secondary fuel (RDF) in Zhytomyr.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, people's deputies believe that the draft law "On guarantees of the origin of electricity from RES" needs to be finalized.
