"Naftogaz" has already launched two solar power plants with a total capacity of more than 34 MW

Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of the Naftogaz group, said that in 2025, the company plans to start construction of two wind power plants with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The company is now starting to design these wind turbines, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

"Despite the increase in gas and oil production, Naftogaz has a priority to increase the implementation of alternative energy projects. You know that we have implemented projects in solar energy, we will not stop. In addition, this year we plan to start two wind energy projects" , – he said.

Chernyshov noted that the EBRD remains a strategic partner of the group.

The material said that in October 2020, the Naftogaz group received a green tariff and a license to sell electricity for a new solar power plant in Chudnov, Zhytomyr Region, with a peak capacity of 33.3 MW. The company also launched the Andriivska HPP in the Balakli district of the Kharkiv region with a capacity of 0.999 MW.

It should be noted that the eco-community is skeptical of new Naftogaz projects, because after the change of management, the company refused a number of green initiatives in various communities.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in November, head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov stated that the company decided to invest in the construction of two wind and one solar power plants.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in December the head of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Oleksiy Chernyshov stated that the company began to develop a decarbonization strategy.
