In 2024, for the preservation of the nature reserve fund in national natural parks and reserves in the project The state budget of Ukraine provides 1,136 million hryvnias.
The amount of the general fund reaches 1,061.1 million hryvnias, and the special fund – 74.9 million hryvnias, says the explanatory note to draft law No. 10000 "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024".
It is noted that this money will be directed to the maintenance of 60 institutions of the nature reserve fund with a total area of about 1.5 million hectares. This will save 337 species of animals and 362 species of plants listed in the Red Book.
In addition, 293 million hryvnias of expenditures from the general and special funds of the state budget are planned for 2024 to support the forestry industry. This money will be spent on preserving and reproducing the forest and nature reserve fund of Ukraine.
The document added that for 2024 measures to improve the state of the environment are also planned – 100 million hryvnias from the general fund of the state budget and 14.4 million hryvnias from the special fund of the state budget. The money will be directed to:
- development of land management documentation, territory organization projects, 38 forest management materials;
- provision of 38 environmental protection measures in the international sphere (payment of contributions to the budgets of international organizations, participation in measures to fulfill Ukraine's international obligations as a party to international Conventions and Agreements);
- equipment of 2 monitoring points for the state of atmospheric air in zones and agglomerations;
- implementation of measures for environmentally safe handling of hazardous chemicals and waste, including 592 tons of unusable pesticides and agrochemicals.
As EcoPolitic reported earlier, the draft of the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024 foresees a new budget program "State Fund for Decarbonization and Energy-Efficient Transformation" in the amount of 759.2 million hryvnias.
