Law enforcement officers must initiate and conduct an investigation

In Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors discovered illegal felling of trees on the territory of a nature reserve fund of local value worth 45 million hryvnias.

Criminals destroyed 363 trees in the Veliko Dobron territorial community, the State Environmental Inspection in Zakarpattia Oblast reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the violations were discovered during measures to prevent violations of environmental legislation.

The eco-inspectors said that they had called the investigative and operational team of the police to the scene. According to this fact, law enforcement officers must enter information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations and start and conduct an investigation.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, the prosecutor's office reported the suspicion of an official from the Uzhan National Nature Park, with the permission of which illegally more than 2 thousand trees were cut down. This caused losses of more than 157 million hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, a pilot project was launched in Ukraine in several branches of the state-owned enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", which will make it impossible to manipulate the waybills (TTN) for illegal wood. From now on, the TTN control system will be strengthened thanks to the addition of photos of loaded logs, because the pattern of folded wood is unique, it is almost impossible to duplicate it.
