All departments must join forces to find the cause of the plague and the culprit of the incident

In Transcarpathia, a meeting of the regional commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergency situations regarding the mass sea of fish in the Mukachevo district was held.

The fish probably died due to the discharge of pollutants into the Polui River, the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the plague occurred on June 23 near the road bridge in the village of Chopivtsi.

The press service said that eco-inspectors took species samples and conducted laboratory tests. The results showed multiple excesses in the content of pollutants. The size of the affected area reached 13 thousand m2, which caused millions of dollars in damage to the environment.

"The commission decided that all control and law enforcement agencies within their competence should join forces, carry out the necessary investigative actions to find the cause of the plague and the culprit of the incident. After the losses and damages suffered by the country's fisheries as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, the emergence and the repetition of such situations is unacceptable," said First Deputy Chairman of the OVA Myroslav Biletskyi.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, illegal and unlimited cutting of trees worth 22.5 million UAH was discovered in the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, near Kharkov in the territory of the Pisochyn community in the Udy River 2,189 fish of various species died, as well as 5 ducks. The water in the river became cloudy with an unpleasant smell, and oily stains were found in the places where the dead fish accumulated.
