The logging ticket did not indicate that this plantation needed urgent cutting

The Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the court regarding the compensation of UAH 5,440.122 thousand in damages to the Transcarpathian Forestry and Hunting Administration and the Velykobereznyan Forest Farm for the illegal felling of 367 trees.

The attackers carried out a continuous felling on an area of 5 hectares, in particular without an environmental impact assessment procedure, reports State Environmental Inspection on Telegram.

The violations were discovered in August 2019. Eco-inspectors handed over the materials to the State Bureau of Investigation, and criminal proceedings were initiated against the officials.

During the investigation, it was established that ZOULAG issued a logging ticket that does not correspond to the projected forest management materials in the quarter of the Chornogol Forestry.

"In addition, in the materials for the logging ticket, the State Forestry Service does not state in the prescribed manner that this plantation needs urgent felling. In fact, continuous felling was carried out on an area of 5.0 hectares," the press service emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, a former official from the regional forestry and hunting management and a forester from the Velikobereznyan forest farm will be tried for illegal logging for 5.4 million hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Transcarpathia, the court forced Svalyavsky forest farm to compensate almost 890 thousand hryvnias for illegal felling and damage to trees of various degrees during sanitary felling and laying and widening of tractor tracks.
