In the Zakarpattian region, territorial communities will be able to receive grants for the creation of centers for the collection of secondary raw materials with a plastic press.

This was stated by the deputy head of Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration Myroslav Biletskyi at a meeting with Hungarian partners, reports ZRMA.

At a meeting with the representative of the Association of Hungary, which unites the largest enterprises related to environmental issues, Gergel Gonkul, they discussed the establishment of cooperation in the field of environment, waste management and cleaning of riverbeds from garbage.

Biletskyi noted that as a representative of the authorities and a native of Zakarpattia, interested in the region being clean, there was no plastic on the banks of the rivers, and the waste was sorted and processed.

According to him, the region is looking for ways and sponsors to organize the collection of raw materials from the population and launch at least one such enterprise in several settlements.

This will create jobs, provide constant income to local budgets and bring undeniable benefits to the environment.

"After talking with partners, there is an understanding that our communities can apply for a grant to place recycling centers with a press for plastic. This will allow compact transportation of waste for processing in the future. For example, in Uzhgorod, where such a line, which is loaded today, operates only by 40%," said Biletskyi.

The article explained that the issue of solid waste management is particularly relevant for Zakarpattia at the moment, because the population has grown significantly, and so has the amount of waste. The region needs modern approaches to waste management, including recycling instead of landfilling.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that, in Zakarpattia the Tisza tributary — Bozhava River was cleared of debris by several dozen people.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, people in Zakarpattia oppose officials in the construction of incinerators factories.
