As a result of an enemy missile attack, the fire at the transformers of Sumyoblenergo lasted for more than a day, which caused damage to the atmosphere for more than 700 thousand hryvnias.
This was reported by the press service of the State Environmental Inspection (SEI).
It is noted that the SEI in the Sumy region has already once again calculated the damage caused to the environment as a result of the emission of pollutants into the atmospheric air, caused by russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.
"On March 3, 2022, the troops of the russian federation launched a rocket-bomb attack on 2 transformers of Sumyoblenergo, located near the city of Lebedyn in Sumy region. As a result, oil products leaked and a fire broke out. According to the company, one of the transformers was extinguished in less than 12 hours, but the other burned for more than a day. In total, during the extraordinary event, more than 35 tons of transformer oil burned, which led to serious pollution of the atmospheric air," the message said.
It is worth noting that the damage calculations were sent to the Operational Headquarters of the State Inspectorate and law enforcement agencies.
As EcoPolitic repored earlier, in the Sumy region, shelling by russian troops on the outskirts of the village of Stara Huta in the Shostky district destroyed 203 pines and birches in the Desnyansko-Starogutsky National Park, which caused damage to the environment in the amount of UAH 6.12 million.
