People cleaned about 2.8 thousand m2 of territories

In the Rivne region on the territory Dubenskaya communities held the "For a clean environment" campaign, during which communal workers and 3,000 residents cleaned up about 40 unauthorized garbage dumps.

They also planted 4,000 trees and almost 700 bushes, the Duben District State Administration reports on Facebook.

In the message, it was emphasized that almost half of the residents of the district took part in the community beautification campaign. They cleaned about 2.8 thousand m2 of territory.

"Work is ongoing on the improvement of cemeteries and mass graves, cleaning and arranging bus stops, bringing the roadsides and roads of populated areas to proper sanitary conditions," the message said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Rivne region, the city of Dubno, the first in Ukraine, switched the entire heating system from natural gas to alternative fuels, namely wood chips, pellets, peat briquettes and peat chips. This will reduce carbon emissions by an average of 37%.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Brovary, Kyiv region, local residents conducted a clean-up of the forest along Melnyka Street, during which they found 3 old televisions, 150 rubber tires and 40 bags of other garbage. Brovary City Council deputy Bohdana Drach, who joined the cleanup, shamed the townspeople for such finds in the forest.
