Signs of a criminal offense can be seen in the actions of the persons who conducted it

Representatives of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Polissia District received a report of illegal deforestation through the EcoThreat web resource, went to the specified coordinates, documented the crime, which caused damage worth more than UAH 13 million, and sent materials on the offenders to the SBU.

This was reported by the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Polissya District.

The illegal actions took place on the territory of the Volodymyrets community near the village of Dovgovolia, Rivne region, on forestry lands.

Responding to an appeal received through EcoThreat, representatives of the Inspectorate found illegal felling of trees of various species in the amount of 1376 pieces. The amount of damage caused to the state by this offense amounted to UAH 13,571,961.20.

Since the signs of a criminal offense can be seen in the actions of the violators, the inspectors of the State Environmental Inspection of the Polissky District sent the materials to the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Rivne Region for further entry of information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations.

A pre-trial investigation is underway.

In March, EcoPolitics reported that in Volyn the director of the Kivertsiv National Nature Park "Tsumanska Pushcha" was informed about the suspicion of illegal felling of trees in the amount of more than UAH 16.5 million.
